Step 4: Design an Experiment to Test Your Hypothesis

You should start by listing the materials you need and then write a detailed step by step procedure for how you will carry out your experiment. If you have to change some of the details later because something doesn't work, it's okay. Most teachers require that you turn in your step by step procedure in order to get your project approved. Your parents should also look it over to make sure they can help you get the supplies you need and so they know what you plan to do.

Important Hints:
Your experiment must test your hypothesis.
You should test it at least 3 times for most experiments.
Science experiments don't always go as planned, so leave yourself plenty of time to solve problems as they come up.
