D. RECOGNITION / SPOTLIGHT ON SUCCESS

1.  All UP Cross Country Team – Senior Emily Chartrand placed 4th in her division in the UP Cross Country finals, thereby was named to the Division 3 Cross Country Team.

2.  Dispelling the Myth Award – On November 13th, our Elementary School received the “Dispelling the Myth Award” at the National Conference of the Education Trust.

3.  American Education Week – This week is American Education Week.  We take this time to express appreciation to all of our staff members for the work each does for our school.

1.   Board Election Results

We will go over the results of the Board member election.  No action is necessary.

2.   Substitute Teacher Pay

Due to the decrease in the number of substitute teachers available, it is recommended that the salary for these substitutes be increased.

5.  Elementary Technology  Skills Class

In an effort to better prepare our Elementary students for online testing that will be mandatory this spring, it is necessary to provide Technology Skills training for our K – 6 students.  An instructor is available through the EUPISD. This  class will begin in the near future.

K.  BOARD REPORTS  -   SIT /  PSC  -  Committee Meetings SIT met last month and next meeting is next Tuesday at 3:30 in library  We are going thru the goals and we had a request to take a look at the cultural activities that are being taught and implemented.  Pete is taking a survey

L.  ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS

1.     Elementary Principal – Mr. Routhier. Report Cards for the 1st marking period went home November 7th.  Had a vets assembly on the 11th.  Drama play 4th and 5th of December, Arranged with Das Gift House to do the Christmas shop again.  Its been a very good program, that will be December 8th and 9th.  Elementary boys basketball started up and going good.  Precision Edge fired up kindle hd’s, four of them, the donation is greatly appreciated.  Christmas Program, is December 18th.  Happy Thanksgiving  

2.     Middle School/High School Principal – Mr. Reattoir  Report cards went out on the 7th also.  College application week, last week to encourage the Seniors to sign up.  Mrs Arthur had staff post where they went and what they majored and this was posted to try to encourage students to continue on with their education.  Quiz Bowl went to Marquette and we did not win this year, but they did a good job.  Finally we know what we are doing with testing, its now called MSTEP this is grades 3-9.  Its a little different set up.  Native American Heritage month, Mrs. Killips has done a wonderful job setting up a great program.  All kinds of stuff, food, history and other events this week.  This week is the turkey tourney.  JV-Varsity Boys started today and Girls are going now as well. Happy Thanksgiving

3.     Superintendent – Mr. Kantola Handed out the goals from the SIT, just the ideas.  So, we will have a special meeting at 6 to go over the goals.  Camera’s will be going in and that should be done before Christmas.
