Welcome to First Grade!

I am thrilled that you are visiting our classroom website!  I am Kelly McPherson and I was born in Sault Ste. Marie and have teaching experience in St. Joseph, MI and Greenville, WI.  Teaching at Brimley Elementary School is the best!  My educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, a Master's Degree in Elementary Education, and 34 years in the education field including classroom teaching, and private tutoring.  I have 3 wonderful children.  My goals for each student this year include striving to do his/her best while doing a quality job, following Bays' Ways while working as a classroom family member, and obtaining the skills to become a lifetime thinker and learner.  I strongly believe that fairness is giving every child what he/she needs and not treating them all the same.  As a result, I differentiate my instruction and lessons to meet the needs of each of my students.  First graders rock and make my heart smile!
